The Carolina Panthers trade wide receiver Robbie Anderson to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for undisclosed draft compensation.

The trade comes after Anderson was sent to the locker room in the fourth quarter of the Panthers’ 24-10 loss to the Rams on Sunday by interim head coach Steve Wilks.

After Sunday’s game, during a press conference he discussed what happened in the on-field verbal altercation, “I was honestly confused, and upset by it as I should be”, Andreson expressed.

“I don’t see nobody that’s a true competitor and knows the value they bring, that’s a true competitor and has a true passion for the game that’s OK with being told not to do something or being taken out of something when they didn’t do anything wrong.”

Anderson wished to be more involved in the offense.

In the first six games of the 2022 season, Anderson had 13 catches for 206 yards and one touchdown, including one 75-yard scoring pass in the opener against the Cleveland Browns.

After joining the team in 2020, he leaves with a career-high 95 passes for 1,096 yards and three touchdowns. In the 2021 season,  just 53 catches for 519 yards and five scores.
