drake hotline bling

Drake‘s “Hotline Bling” was one of the best songs of the year, and the video made it all the more viral. Geeky, but cool at the same time, we’re not surprised to find out Apple was behind the infectious dance visual – their DNA is all over that one.

From The Verge:

According to a report from Recode today, Apple didn’t simply pay Drake to release the video through its streaming music service. It actually financed the James Turrell-inspired dance session, which was released as an exclusive on Apple Music in October of last year before it made its way to YouTube and other platforms about a week later. “Hotline Bling” quickly blew up on the internet, becoming a colossal meme factory, finding its way into the 2016 presidential race, and spawning one of the more culturally relevant Super Bowl 50 ads.

Not a bad start at video production, Apple. Push through.

We’ve got another hot installment of “Carpool Karaoke” on our hands.

Ride along with James Corden as he sings “Chandelier” with Sia, the famed artist who can hold a dozen eggs on top of her hands.

The funny duo also talks aliens, wigs, and more.

Hello from the other side.

Adele and Lionel Richie were spotted exchanging pleasantries and posing for photos backstage at the 2016 Grammys.

From EW:

After much back and forth in the press, Richie and Adele finally met backstage at Monday’s award show. Both have songs title “Hello” – maybe you heard Adele’s version once or twice – and after the British singer’s came out in 2015, Richie spoke about wanting to collab with her on a project.

“We are going to be doing something together — that’s already almost in the works,” he told E! News. “Her mission is [to] get her record out and go on tour, so until she finishes that cycle, that won’t happen just yet. She is committed to that.” He also posted a mash-up of their two songs to Instagram back in October.

Before the Grammys he spoke about wanting to meet her in a pre-show special. “I’m looking for her,” he said. “My opening line is going to be ‘Hello, it’s me.’ And she’s gonna say, ‘Is it me you’re looking for?’”

Hilarious. Check out the one-of-a-kind photo just above.

Kendrick Lamar isn’t just talking the talk.

In a new docu-series, Vice follows the “Alright” rapper into the mean streets of Compton, where K. Dot was born.

Featuring statements from Snoop Dogg and some of Kendrick’s friends, we get a real look at what it would have been like to be raised in the California city.

Noisey will premiere every Tuesday, beginning March 1st at 10pm on VICELAND. Kendrick’s Noisey Bompton is the first episode in the series.
