Bun B family instincts took over as he shot a suspected armed intruder during an attempted robbery at his house Tuesday night, ABC13 confirms.
According to Houston police, the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday evening. Bun B’s wife, Angela “Queenie” Walls, answered a doorbell thinking it was a delivery. As she opened the door, the masked intruder held her at gunpoint demanding valuables. As Walls offered up an Audi, Bun B heard the disturbance and grabbed his gun and confronted the gunman. A shootout later ensued with the intruder leaving his weapon and running off.
TMZ would report later that the suspect —revealed as DeMonte Jackson— went to a Houston area hospital with a gunshot wound to his shoulder. He was later apprehended by police and charged with two felony counts of aggravated robbery with a weapon and one felony count for burglary.
No one else was reported to be at the house at the time of the incident.
Just recently, Bun B released a collaborative album with Statik Selektah entitled TrillStatik, which was recorded in under 12 hours. The two had a live stream of the album, which featured the likes of Smoke DZA, Method Man, Big K.R.I.T. and Talib Kweli. The live stream can be viewed below:
