Cleveland Browns v Carolina Panthers

This offseason has been one of joy and hope for the Carolina Panthers, but on Thursday they got some news that brought things back to Earth a little bit.

In a release from the team this morning, the Panthers announced that star cornerback Jaycee Horn will miss the remainder of OTAs and mini camp after sustaining a left ankle and foot injury while training on his own. As of right now, no surgery is required and Horn will spend a few weeks in a walking boot while the injury heals. The positive news is that this is not the same foot that he injured in 2021 that cost him the majority of the season.

He is expected to be able to return for the start of training camp, but you have aggressive the Panthers will be with him in training camp and the preseason with his injury past. Horn missed all but three games of his rookie season with that right foot fracture on a Monday night game against the Houston Texans. He also missed four games a year ago, including the final two games of the season after undergoing wrist surgery.

The boys on the Mac & Bone Show broke the news to listeners shortly after 8:30 AM. Bone reaction to the news pretty much says it all. “That’s terrifying,” he said after Willie, who was in for Mac, revealed the injury. “We’ve talked about him often on this show not being injury prone and he actually addressed the freakish nature of the injuries the other day. I’m not in panic mode, but that’s not good.”
