Meet Mrs. Brenda Robinson, a unique bird that developed an intense affinity for flight the moment she first touched the sky.According to her, women in the 1970s—particularly Black women—had virtually no background in aircraft operation.

Nevertheless, Brenda Robinson attended to aviation college and obtained her license to fly. That was when she thought it was finished. The Navy had other ideas. They contacted Robinson and offered her a position in a pilot program that would accommodate ten women.

Brenda Robinson came to the realization that she would be the first Black woman in Navy history at that point. She flew through oil field fires during the Iraq War and landed on every aircraft carrier on the East Coast throughout her 13-year Navy tenure.
