'Captain America: Civil War' - European Premiere - VIP Arrivals

Captain America: Civil War is changing the game for Marvel’s Cinematic Universe.

The superhero flick remained at the number one spot, raking in an estimated $72.5 million over the weekend. The film also became the year’s first $1 billion earner worldwide, with a global total of $940.89 million.

The Jungle Book came in second at the box office with $17.7 million, while George Clooney and Julia Roberts Money Monster opened in third with an estimated $15 million.

Fox’s new series, 24: Legacy, is set to premiere on Sunday, February 5 following the network’s broadcast of Super Bowl LI.

The reboot of the 24 franchise is the first drama to make its debut after the Super Bowl and the third Fox drama series to air after the big game since the network joined Super Bowl rotation in 1997 (the others were The X-Files and House).

24: Legacy will debut with a two-night premiere: Sunday night following the Super Bowl and Monday, February 6 at 8 p.m.

Jimmy Kimmel filled in as Kelly Ripa‘s first co-host on Live with Kelly since Michael Strahan‘s departure.

When Kimmel addressed the crowd: “Where’s Michael? Everything alright?,” Ripa responded, “As is tradition, whenever we re-launch the show, my co-host is Jimmy Kimmel.”

The late night host then unveiled a “Wheel of New Co-Hosts” to help Ripa choose a permanent replacement.
