Halloween has been on a lot of folks’ minds as the holiday nears. What is there to do? Is Halloween cancelled in the Queen City? Well, some great ideas were offered during the Mecklenburg County Commissioners meeting. The Charlotte Observer reports:

“Traditional trick-or-treating is not a COVID-19-safe activity, but Charlotte kids and adults can still have a ghoulish time with virtual and socially-distanced options.

Haunted houses and large parties are discouraged, according to new Halloween guidance from Mecklenburg County health officials. But door-to-door trick-or-treating can be done safely if individually wrapped candy or goodie bags are left for children to grab-and-go without contact.

In a presentation titled “Don’t let COVID-19 turn Halloween into a nightmare,” prepared for Tuesday night’s Mecklenburg County commissioners meeting, local health officials give advice for celebrating safely.”
