DaBaby stopped by 102.5 The Block to talk about his Billion Dollar Baby Birthday Bash, and it’s about to be crazy.
Going down January 22, the lineup is stacked with 50 Cent, Sexxy Redd, YTB Fatt, Big X The Plug, Toosii, Stunna 4 Vegas, and more.
ACE caught up with the Charlotte star about what fans can expect, how the show came together, and the success of his latest singles taking over TikTok and the airwaves.
DaBaby shared what it means to bring a show like this back home to Charlotte:
“I’ve been blessed enough to perform on big stages all around the world. So to be able to come back and do it in one of the biggest stages right here in my own city.”
“It’s as big as it getting for me to be able to come in and bring the type of lineup that I’m bringing and put on the table show…. It’s a surreal moment, man. A full-circle moment for me.”
His actual birthday was December 22, but he still wanted to throw a major event for the city.
“We was going to do it on the 21st [of December] so it would have actually been like on my birthday. But they were short-staffed for the holidays and we wanted to be able to do it right,” DaBaby said. “So they gave us a date to do it in January. Instead of me saying ‘I didn’t, it’s not my birthday no more.’ I want to do it. Still did it, man.”
On top of the big show, his singles “PHAT” and “HIM” are going crazy, especially on TikTok.
“It’s never a dull moment on TikTok, man. Never. Sometimes I get on there to watch one video or just to check on the progress of a song or whatever, and end up on there for hours.”
This event is about to be high-energy, nonstop entertainment, and a huge moment for Charlotte. The city is definitely gonna show out!
