Dave East

In honor of Memorial Day Weekend, Harlem rapper Dave East drops a dope remix titled “Anna Mae.” Sampling Amerie’s 2002 hit “Why Don’t We Fall In Love,” Dave lays down some gritty lyrics over the blissful R&B beat.

“Amerie she was my favorite in my Avirex, I hate to see real n*ggas that never made it yet, I hate to see soft n*ggas that be making threats,” raps Dave. “I guess these bars come naturally ’cause I’ve seen a cell, seen a jail, no detective ever seen me tell.”

Dave also mentioned the Irving Plaza shooting at T.I.’s concert: “Shouts to T.I. he wanted to bring me out, n*ggas shot up Irving Plaza we was speeding out/ that’s that New York sh*t, nothing to think about.”

Dave East is set to perform at HOT 97’s annual Summer Jam Concert. All the action is scheduled to go down Sunday, June 5 at New Jersey’s Metlife Stadium.
