Prequel Series ‘Power: Origins’ Greenlit By Starz, Mekai Curtis Will Return
Power fans don’t fret, there is plenty more drama from your favorite drug-dealing cinematic universe on the way.
Starz has greenlit Power: Origins, the prequel series that will follow the young hustling exploits of our favorite drug-dealing duo, Ghost and Tommy.
The network that 50 Cent notoriously threatens to stop doing business with announced it has ordered 18 episodes of the prequel series for its premiere season.
A description of Power: Origins per Starz reads:
The series will continue to explore the ‘Power’ universe in fresh and compelling ways, delving into the action-packed origin story of fan-favorite characters Ghost and Tommy as ambitious young entrepreneurs on the rise, determined to make their mark on the streets of New York City. A fun, rambunctious exploration of a new time period in the “Power” franchise, “Power: Origins” will highlight the unbridled audacity of young men on the rise, determined to become legends in the game.
MeKai Curitis Will Return As Kanan In Power: Origins
Starz also announced that when the series arrives, it will also feature Power Book III: Raising Kanan star MeKai Curtis, who will be reprising his role as a young Kanan Stark in the series.
“I’m excited to continue to explore the origin stories of the Power Universe’s founding fathers,” said Sascha Penn, showrunner, writer, and executive producer. “Ghost and Tommy’s backstories have fueled years of constant fascination and speculation among fans, and I’m thrilled to be able to answer some long-held questions and share new layers of the story that viewers won’t see coming.”
Power: Origins is the fourth spinoff from the original Power show and follows Power Book II: Ghost which wrapped with its fourth and final season in 2024, Power Book III: Raising Kanan which aired its fourth season and already filmed its fifth and final season and Power Book IV: Force which will air its third and final season this fall.
Power truly never ends.
