Cop Outta Control: Off-Duty Drama and Gun-Waving Granny

A Charlotte police officer has landed herself on the wrong side of the law after allegedly threatening a woman involved in an assault case — and she didn’t do it alone.

Officer Jazmin Featherstone, 26, found herself in hot water after reportedly losing her cool in the Freedom Division on Tuesday, July 29. According to court docs, Featherstone was not feeling very professional and told someone she was “going to f— her up and spill her secrets — because she’s the police.” (That last part definitely didn’t help her case.)

As if that weren’t messy enough, a family member — 54-year-old Shawn Rice — allegedly joined the chaos by waving a gun around and adding her own spicy threats to the mix. Yes, apparently Auntie Shawn decided it was time for family bonding via felony.

Rice now faces charges for assault by pointing a gun, damaging property, and—you guessed it—communicating threats.

Moral of the story: When you’re off duty, maybe just stay off drama, too.
