Yesterday, it was announced that the Carolina Panthers and Scott Fitterer have agreed to terms on a 5 year deal to become the Panthers next general manager.

This morning on the Mac Attack, Mac and T-Bone reacted to the hiring and seemed excited about the news.

Fitterer comes from the Seattle Seahawks where he was the VP of Football Operations.

He was Seahawks GM John Schneider’s right hand man when it came to the NFL Draft and Free Agency. Schneider publicly wished Fitterer well with a released statement him “a great evaluator of people, an excellent communicator and a tremendous person.”

Mac and Bone go through the recent drafts of the Seahawks and reference how they have not been great in the first round, but have hit on players in later rounds like DK Metcalf and Chris Carson.

While nobody knows if this move with work out, it seems that Matt Rhule got the guy he wanted since Fitterer has such a scouting background.

It was reported yesterday that Rhule wanted someone with a scouting background, while David Tepper wanted a more analytical guy.

Mac mentions on the show this morning that he was texting with Bills front office member and former Panthers Dan Morgan regarding Scott Fitterer. Morgan raved about Fitterers work ethic, and said this was an absolute slam-dunk hire for the Panthers.
