It’s been nearly two years since Paul Walker died in a single-vehicle collision, and friends, family, fans, and colleagues are still mourning his untimely death.
We can only imagine how tough it’s been on Paul’s teenage daughter, Meadow, who was extremely close to her dad before he passed. However difficult, his mini-me stepped up and filed a wrongful death suit against Porsche this past September, stating that the Carrera GT he and Roger Rodas were in was unfit to drive, before listing a bevy of faulty components.
Porsche’s legal team has now responded to the 16-year-old’s lawsuit. The luxury car company states that they won’t accept blame for the “abuse” the car suffered “after being placed into the stream of commerce.”
They also allege Paul was aware of any and all risks, stating, “Mr. Walker’s voluntary assumption of the risk should bar the plaintiff’s recovery or, in the alternative, should reduce the plaintiff’s right to recovery from [Porsche’s] in an amount equivalent to Mr. Walker’s fault.”
According to Vulture, Porsche responded to the wife of Roger Rodas, who was driving when the incident occurred, similarly. The site also reports that both Meadow and the car manufacturer are seeking a jury trial.
