Charlotte Hornets v Utah Jazz

The Hornets dropped their third game in a row on Monday night in Utah, falling 112-102 despite battling all the way back into the game, even taking the lead at one point after being down as many as 21 points in the first quarter. Those first quarter struggles have become a major issue for the team during this road trip, as the team has trailed by at least 17 or more points at some part of the first quarter this week and have been outscored 113-55 overall in the quarter in those three affairs.

The team will hope to iron out those first quarter struggles and continue to improve defensively in their final game of the West Coast road trip on Wednesday when they travel to Denver to take on the Nuggets. Sam Farber, the radio voice of the Charlotte Hornets, joined the Mac Attack earlier today and said that the fight that the Hornets showed against the Jazz after trailing by as much as they did early reminds him of the team’s last road trip.

“I think things started to turn last night for the Hornets against a really good Utah team. Charlotte fought; they got back in rhythm offensively. I would not be surprised if the Hornets were able to end this road trip the same way they ended the last one with a win against a pretty good team and then using that to give them some momentum into a longer home stretch.”
