A new black-owned pizza sport opened in south Charlotte.
Bird Pizzeria is owned by husband and wife Kerrel and Nkem Thompson. The idea to open a pizza shop was inspired by their first date over pizza as they reflected during the pandemic.
The pizza shop is located in Optimist Park at 510 E. 15th St.
Bird is an artisanal East Coast-inspired pizza shop.
You can order online on Bird Pizzeria’s website or walk-up. Outdoor seating is available.
The shop is open from 4-8 PM Wednesday and Thursday, 4-9 PM Friday and Saturday.
