A mayoral hopeful joins the chorus of critics who say Baton Rouge's mayor mishandled the aftermath of the Alton Sterling shooting. But Mayor Holder came out swinging at his critics.

The image of Alton's 15-year-old son, Cameron, breaking down as he stood next to his mother at a Wednesday press conference will be ingrained in our memory for ages.

The two officers -- Blane Salamoni and Howie Lake II -- were placed on administrative leave following the shooting. Lake previously discharged his weapon in the line of duty.

Gov. Edwards added that the Middle District of Louisiana U.S. Attorney's office and the FBI will also assist in the investigation.

In the newly released video, an officer can be seen pulling an object out of Sterling's pocket after he was shot multiple times. It's unclear if the object is a firearm.

Alton Sterling was selling CDs outside a convenience store when he was fatally shot by police Tuesday morning.
