The former offensive lineman for Washington and the Lions turned radio host for 97.1 The Ticket joined The Kyle Bailey Show to preview tonight’s preseason matchup between Detroit and Carolina.
Jon started by looking at what he is looking for in the Lions preseason finale he thinks stopping the run is key for tonight, especially given how the Lions struggled against the run last year against Carolina.
One of the Panthers free agent acquisitions this offseason was DJ Chark after one year in the Motor City Jon said when he is on the field he has that big-play potential and is an asset, but unfortunately injuries have plagued him in recent years and that has hampered his production.
The Panthers also gained some coaches from the Lions staff over the past year as Jon spoke glowingly about both RBs Coach Duce Staley and DL Coach Todd Wash as well as the entire coaching staff, and while he is concerned with his height he thinks he can be an effective QB, especially with Frank Reich as his HC.
