Steve Smith Sr. joined the Kyle Bailey Show on Monday afternoon to recap the Panther preseason finale against the Lions, and where things stand for Carolina with the regular season just 13 days away.

Things started with the preseason finale as Steve said no matter what you think about each team played, there is a lot of ugly football going on given the gap between the starters and back of the roster guys, especially when you are learning playbooks from a firehose. Steve also pointed out that just because you have a good stat line during the preseason, it doesn’t mean you had a good game as he used former Panthers QB Will Grier as an example from his performance with the Cowboys this preseason.

Steve then went in on the people concerned about Bryce’s height as they are overlooking how talented he actually is Just because he’s small he equated his height concerning people to a staph infection which blows his mind.

When it comes to the regular season for Carolina, Steve was honest as he thinks the first month will have its challenges due to the defense getting adjusted to Ejiro Evero’s scheme as well as the coaching turnover as a whole, but in October and November, the team as a whole should be improved.
