The police investigation into the murders of Markayla Johnson and her two children, who were discovered dead in an apartment in northeast Charlotte, is receiving additional information thanks to a search warrant that was made public on Monday afternoon.

The 34-year-old Benjamin Taylor, who was taken into custody in southern California on Saturday, is being sought for extradition.

Three counts of murder and one count of concealing a death are brought against him. Johnson went missing on March 3rd, according to her family. Johnson’s cell phone was switched off in the vicinity of the apartment that day and was not turned on again, per the search warrant. Johnson’s family allegedly went by the apartment on March 5th but received no response, according to the warrant.
