April 8, 2024, is when the next total solar eclipse will occur in the United States. Beginning in Mexico, the line of totality will travel through Texas, the Midwest, northern New York, and New England before ending. The path of totality, which is where the entire solar eclipse is visible, will pass across thirteen states. A partial eclipse of 80–83% will be seen in Charlotte, giving the appearance that the sun has been massively bitten.

Around 1:54 p.m. ET, Charlotte will see a partial solar eclipse. At 3:11 p.m. ET, the sun will be fully obscured by the moon at its zenith.

In 2017, Charlotte had an amazing view, unfortunately, we’re only seeing a small portion of the elipse!
