Keisha Hamilton

Center 360, Founder & Board Member

Cirrus Medical Staffing, Account Manager

As the co-founder of Center 360, a grassroots non-profit youth organization, Keisha has over 20 years of experience and knowledge working with young people. Growing up playing sports helped Keisha cope with life changes, like moving from Jamaica to Canada at age 10. She started running track at age 5 in Jamaica and used her track skills to gain a full athletic scholarship to Western Kentucky University. While at WKU, Keisha earned her Bachelor of Science in Marketing, and Master of Science in Athletic Administration and Recreation. She is a USA Track and Field Certified Coach, and also coaches with the Charlotte Flights Track Club, which serves youth ages 5-18.

She was driven to start Center 360 after working for several years with the City of Decatur Park and Recreation in Atlanta, Georgia, as well as the Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation, Youth Sports Division here in Charlotte. While working with these organizations, and doing volunteer work with the youth of Charlotte in various capacities, Keisha grew to realize the important impact her youth coaches had in her life, and wanted to provide that support to other young people.

After years of engaging with the community, researching and planning, Keisha and co-founder Akeliah Stewart noticed that there was a lack of career development and exploration programs offered to the youth that do not reside in the more affluent areas of Charlotte. In 2015, Keisha was excited to see their vision come to life. The mission of Center 360 is to empower and inspire youth in West Charlotte through education and career development. Since receiving 501c3 status in 2015, Center 360 has provided free afterschool and out-of-school programs, workshops, tutoring, and enrichment activities to over 150 youth in West Charlotte.

Sports, as well as my coaches along the way, have all had a great impact on my life and the person I am today. Center 360 is an opportunity for me to use what I was blessed with, and pay it forward to our youth.”
